Reflection
Standard V focuses on the importance of professional growth and leadership. There is so much growth that can still take place in our school and educational systems when it comes to technology. I know personally I have grown throughout this program just by researching different tools that can be used in the classroom. The standard talks about evaluating and reflecting which is something we all could benefit from more. Assessment, evaluation, and reflection are three things that could change the way we educate in a positive manner if used consistently. The artifacts chosen for Standard V differ from one another, but I believe they each show growth and professionalism. The technology survey is used as an evaluative tool to assess one's familiarity with technology. The research paper on distance education is very important and relevant to teachers and students alike. The IT 645 Blogfolio displays my journey through the class and also includes each project that was completed throughout the semester.
Just over the past three semesters, I have grown in my knowledge and skill within the technology realm. It is my goal moving forward that I will continue to research new digital learning tools and be able to implement them in my classroom and also share them with educators around me. There is so much to be learned from all of the resources we have through technology. It is a matter of using these resources correctly and recognizing how our students are going to learn best.
